In August/September, we went back to the States for our R&R. The trip was great, and we were able to be with my entire family for the first time since something like Christmas 2012. Plus we were able to spend a lot of time at the beach, something I always want to do.
While at the beach, we spent time with one of our favorite couples, with whom we went to college, and although I have been long-time family friends with the guy, we didn’t all connect as a foursome until after college graduation. We hung out a lot during language training, as they were both often in DC — they were engaged at the time and she lived there. They have since moved to Philly, but were at the beach for some of the same time we were.
One night, we went over to help pick some of the many crabs they had from a couple of very successful crabbing trips. As always with them, we had a wonderful time, full of delicious food, good wine, and great conversation. I’m looking forward to a repeat in summer 2015!
