I had always wanted to spend some time in Slovenia in general, and at Lake Bled in particular, and we managed to do it Labor Day weekend 2013. Bled is a cute little town; the lake is truly magical. Walking around it and looking at it from the castle high on a cliff, I felt like I was in a fairytale. In fact, that’s how I felt about pretty much everywhere we went during our extended weekend in Slovenia.
It is hard to believe a place like this exists in “real life”:
